Thank you DPM Wong and SMS Zaqy for spending your morning with us and supporting our Little Giving Artists!

Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) Mr. Lawrence Wong and Senior Minister of State (SMS) Mr. Zaqy Mohamad visited Skool4Kidz Preschool @ Marsiling Drive on 3rd August morning. This is in support of the fund-raising effort of our Skool4Kidz Care Fund’s Little Giving Artists initiative in conjunction with National Day 2023.

The Skool4Kidz Little Giving Artists’ community outreach fund-raising campaign was launched in 2021 as one of the preschool’s National Day celebration activities. This year the children created a record number of 182 art images on jute bags and raised a total of $12,000 for AWWA Kindle Garden Preschool.

DPM Wong and SMS Zaqy joined a group of Skool4Kidz preschoolers in a ceremony at the centre to commemorate the donation drive. They completed a small section of the art painting on a bag each together with the preschoolers.

DPM Wong is accompanied by Kindergarten 2 preschooler, Alyssa.

SMS Zaqy is accompanied by Kindergarten 2 preschooler, Yusuf.

After that, the distinguished guests joined them to present a cheque for the amount raised to AWWA. Its CEO Mr. J R Karthikeyan received the cheque on behalf of the preschool for Kindle Garden Hardship Subsidy.

DPM Wong and SMS Zaqy interacted with the children and watched National Day-themed performances by the Nursery and Kindergarten preschoolers.

The Little Giving Artists’ fund-raising campaign is supported by our Skool4Kidz Care Fund, a Corporate Social responsibility initiative. It engages children from our Art Enrichment Programme across selected Skool4Kidz Preschool centres to inspire creativity and foster compassion for others in need.

Children learn to do acrylic paintings on sustainable bags with the guidance and support of art educators from an established enrichment provider, Crestar Learning Centre. This year the theme for the children’s artwork is ‘Nature and I’.

The painted bags are showcased in Skool4Kidz’s digital art gallery and are available for purchase by the public at a minimum of $30 each. The proceeds go to AWWA Kindle Garden, so that young learners with additional needs, hearing and visual impairment can enjoy quality early childhood education

Our special guests received tokens of appreciation that were handmade by the preschoolers using recycled crayons and bottle caps.
