Held on the 14th of November at the Orchid Country Club, approximately 450 Skool4Kidz educators and office staff – dressed in Skool4Kidz t-shirts – gathered to celebrate the annual Skool4Kidz Day. The annual event celebrates the contributions of staff at the preschool centres. It also rounded up a year meaningful year of dynamic growth for Skool4Kidz: the opening of its 15th centre that includes its mega centre, Campus @ Sengkang Riverside Park – also Singapore’s very first preschool facility in a park, and finalist in the prestigious Asia Pacific showcase, INDE.Awards.
Themed ‘Building Partnerships, Bridges to The Family & Community’ this year, the aim of the event was to reinforce the importance of sustainable and effective partnerships between the school and community which includes teachers, families, and students. The full-day event began with a quick address by Operations Director, Mr. Timothy Chan and Curriculum Founder Dr Jane Ching-Kwan.
Designation Lecturer of Department Early Childhood & Special Needs Education (ECSE), Dr Mercy Karuniah was keynote speaker for the day. Her speech ‘Engaging Parents: A Practical Approach’, highlighted the importance of a parent’s involvement in their child’s growth and development.
Following Dr Karuniah’s speech were break-out sessions where staff were separated into different function rooms to discuss topics such as strategies of supporting and communication with families, the development and learning for toddlers and infants, among other topics.
Staff career development and progression were also unveiled by Mr Ng Tiow Seng, our Human Resource Director of Skool4kidz, in line with exponential expansion of Skool4Kidz’s preschool network in the years ahead.
Announced were also the centres that obtained their SPARK Certification: Tampines GreenLeaf, Yishun Orchid Springs, Senja Parc View, Woodlands Crescent Meadow, Punggol Waterway Banks, Sengkang Anchorvale Crescent and Ping Yi Greens. Awards were also given out to recognise some of our outstanding staff and centres who have shown dedication and pride in what they do.
The programme end with the lucky draw results announced, and souvenirs were given to all attendees.
