Crestar Education Group reaffirms commitment to continuous improvement and holistic growth for staff amidst new and emerging challenges in preschools
Crestar Education Group (CEG) is committed to continuously raising the standard of its early childhood education. CEG emphasises the holistic professional and personal growth of its educators. This year’s CEG Early Childhood (EC) Professional Development (PD) Day, held on 12 July 2024 at Singapore Expo, brought together over 1,300 educators and staff together. This year, educators from Kinderland, ELFA, NurtureStars, and Skool4Kidz, are prepare for the emerging challenges in the EC sector ahead.
Dr Carol Loy, Senior Director of Curriculum and Professional Development at Kinderland, ELFA and NurtureStars, highlighted in her opening address the important role that educators play. Educators are the key to creating a nurturing and inclusive environment for children regardless of their background and ability. Marion Mony, Director of Programme and Professional Development at Skool4Kidz, added that educators need to continually expand their skills to accommodate children with diverse abilities.
CEG invited renowned experts from Taiwan, Professor Meng Ying-Ru from National Tsing Hua University, Associate Professor Tseng Shu-Hsien from Chung Yuan Christian University and Associate Professor Chao Kuo-Yu from Chang Gung University of Science and Technology to conduct workshops. The workshops addresses effective and inclusive teaching strategies to foster children’s potential, address behavioural challenges, and activating executive functions in children.
In addition to educator training sessions, there were also workshops on workplace health and safety and security and incident response. These workshops enhance and upskill operational staff, as well to handle challenges in the evolving preschool environment.
The enthusiasm of the 1,300 participants and overall success of PD Day highlighted the importance of regular training programmes. CEG will continue to provide to ensure all its employees have appropriate avenues for continuous growth and development professionally and personally.
