The Grange Institution clinches win as the Sustainable International School of the Year at the Singapore Educational Awards 2023. Following its recognition as the School with the Best Environmental Initiatives in 2021 and 2022, The Grange stands out as a beacon of sustainable education in Singapore’s educational landscape.
Beyond adopting green initiatives, The Grange embodies a holistic commitment to sustainability, with nature-inspired learning seamlessly integrated into its pedagogy. Aligned with the United Nations’ Education for Sustainable Development movement, students actively experience sustainability through immersive learning. The Creators-in-Action©, unique to the school, is directly linked to UN Sustainable Development Goals, nurturing responsible and global citizenry in students.
The ‘Green Granger’ initiatives showcase The Grange’s dedication, featuring an Eco-Garden and Farm Alley on campus where students actively participate in cultivating plants, vegetables, and fruits. As the founding member of The Alliance for Sustainable Schools (TASS), The Grange actively extends its sustainability initiatives beyond school boundaries.
The ongoing “Grow with The Grange” campaign in collaboration with Green Steps involves planting trees along the Sumatran coast, offsetting carbon footprints and fostering environmental stewardship. The school’s pledge to plant a tree for every student has planted 87 trees since June of 2023 and offset 1.91 tons of CO2 from the atmosphere.
The Grange Institution’s third time win underscores its unwavering dedication to sustainable education. With projects aligned with Singapore’s Green Plan 2030, it stands as a frontrunner in sustainable education—a living testament to the symbiotic relationship between education and the environment.
