Our Little Stars sparkled once again at this year’s NurtureStars Sports Fiesta, themed Go Go Stars. About 450, including 133 participating Preschoolers and their families members, were at the event at the SUTD Sports & Recreation Centre on 21 September.

The day began with a warm-up session led by Ms. Mimi from JACPA. She got the children, parents, and teachers moving together in high spirits for the activities ahead.

One of the key moments was the gymnastics demonstration, where our Little Stars showcased their agility and coordination. With confidence, the children performed gymnastics formations such as “Airplane”, “Sailboat”, and “Pyramid”. This display reflected NurtureStars’ commitment to its Active Learning Curriculum, which integrates a robust physical education programme with classroom learning.

Partnering with JACPA—Japan’s largest physical education provider for preschoolers—NurtureStars uses the curriculum to support holistic development, fostering concentration, memory, discipline, resilience, and teamwork in the children.

Following the gymnastics segment, the event continued with parent-child bonding activities. Parents and children teamed up for competitions such as the ‘three-legged race’ and ‘balancing beans’ challenge. Meanwhile, cheers of encouragement echoed throughout the hall, with the crowd rallying behind the families.

Another highlight of the day was the tug-of-war competition. Parents faced off in a spirited contest as their children cheered them on from the sidelines.

The day concluded with a synchronised mass drill performance by the children, showcasing the agility and coordination they had developed in school. It was a true display of their commitment and spirited sportsmanship that deservedly received thunderous applause from the audience.

Parents in action! The tug-of-war competition brought out the competitive spirit, as parents gave it their all while their children and teachers cheered them on from the sidelines.

Our Little Stars put on an impressive display during the mass drill, showcasing the coordination and teamwork they have developed throughout the year.

Guided by teachers, our little gymnast takes on the monkey bar with confidence, showcasing strength and determination.
