On March 4th, the world celebrates World Engineering Day (WED) for Sustainable Development, highlighting the achievements of engineering globally. This year, The Grange Institution (TGI), a boutique international primary school established in 2018 in Singapore is a proud official partner for this prestigious event.
The Grange being selected as a global partner on this project emphasises the importance of engineering amongst young learners in achieving the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Principal Soh Bee Ling states, “This partnership underscores our dedication to Educating for Sustainable Development (ESD). It is never too early to develop an engineer’s mindset. We take pride in nurturing young minds to advance the SDGs as responsible global citizens.”

At the launch event in Paris, TGI was invited as a distinguished guest, joining an audience of governments, UN-associated organisations, policymakers, educators and leaders in the public and private sectors. Mr. Mustafa Shehu, President of the World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WEFO), addressed the assembly by concluding, “Let us inspire the next generation of engineers to assume the leadership, and allow them to continue the better work of building a better world.”
The 2025 WED campaign, themed “Shaping Our Sustainable Future Through Engineering“, highlights the crucial role of TGI and other partners in demonstrating how engineers are leading the way, meeting the SDG targets, and inspiring the next generation of engineers.

This year also marks UNESCO’s 80th anniversary and a decade of the UN SDGs. TGI’s involvement in this milestone event is indeed a great honour, a remarkable affirmation to the school, given her short history.
