Kinderland Indonesia marks 30 years of innovative early education, impacting over 15,000 children in four cities over the past three decades.
The Beginnings of Kinderland Jakarta
In the early 1990s, quality early childhood education was scarce in Indonesia, affecting school readiness. It was visionary entrepreneur, Mrs Seemun Suparno, who brought Singapore’s esteemed early education brand, Kinderland, to Jakarta in 1994. This provided local families and children more access to quality early learning through a holistic proprietary curriculum.
Since then, Kinderland has accomplished several key milestones in Indonesia.
On its 10th Anniversary, Kinderland Jakarta featured a preschool musical, Amelia, earning Indonesia’s MURI Award for the largest preschool stage performance.

In 2009, Kinderland Jakarta celebrated the 15th Anniversary by embracing the Go, Grow and Glow sustainability campaign – a tree-planting initiative at Ragunan Zoo and a Family Cycling Day at Monas. Following that, an art exhibition at the National Museum of Indonesia was held to commemorate the 20th anniversary, showcasing children’s creativity and promoting cultural appreciation.

Expansion and Growth Across Indonesia
Beyond the horizon of Jakarta, Kinderland brand further expanded into other cities like Bandung in 2002, Medan in 2005, and Surabaya in 2010 with like-minded partners. A trusted Singapore early education brand, Kinderland continues to be the preferred choice among young and affluent parents.
