On February 22 and 23, 2024, Kinderland Preschool @ Bonavista, Jakarta, reached a significant milestone by embarking on their first overseas learning journey to Singapore, potentially making them the first Indonesian preschool to visit Singapore.
Expanding Young Minds
Kinderland’s curriculum theme for the term was “Connecting with the World.” In line with the theme, the trip offered 28 Kindergarten Two (K2) students a unique opportunity to travel and learn beyond Indonesia. Over two days the children, guided by their parents and teachers, visited key sites across Singapore, including Science Centre, Children’s Museum, Merlion Park, and Admiralty Park.
At the Science Centre, students engaged with interactive exhibits on technology and the human body, sparking curiosity and encouraging hands-on learning. The Children’s Museum further broadened their perspectives with insights into the natural world, outer space, Singapore’s heritage, and global cultures. These experiences exemplified Kinderland’s commitment to expanding young minds.
A Journey with Lasting Impact
The journey was a transformative experience that left a lasting impact on both students and parents. The memories created during the trip have become a meaningful chapter in the children’s educational journey with Kinderland, nurturing them to become lifelong learners and future-ready global citizens.
The success of the trip sparked the interest of parents and teachers from both Kinderland @ Bonavista and other centres, many of them were eager to participate in future overseas learning journeys. The Kinderland Jakarta team looks forward to exploring opportunities for future trips and exchange programmes within Kinderland’s regional network.
