Celebrating the Graduates – Certificate Ceremony Held for Cambodia’s First Chinese Early Childhood Teacher Training Programme

11^th of August 2025 marks a leap forward for advancing Chinese Early Childhood Teacher Training, amid the thriving growth of international Chinese language education in Cambodia. The certificate ceremony for the Inaugural Cohort of International Chinese Early Childhood Teacher Training Programme (ICP) was held at SkillsHive, a training hub and community established in Cambodia.

It was our honour to have H.E. Mr Vinh Bun Eang, Assistant to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth and Sport (MoEYS) as the Guest of Honour for this event. Together with Dr Chen Shi, Vice Principal, Chinese Early Childhood & Language Teaching Programme of KLC International Institute, they presented certificates to graduating participants.

Trainees undertook a concise and structured programme jointly certified by Singapore’s KLC International Institute and ChinesePlus (中文联盟). ChinesePlus is an international smart education platform for Chinese language learning, developed under the guidance of the Center for Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC) of China’s Ministry of Education. Within the 45-hour course, participants learned teaching methodology, classroom management skills, and foundational cross-cultural communication strategies for preschool Chinese education. By incorporating Artificial intelligence (AI) in the course, they practised basic AI-assisted techniques to develop efficient and interactive teaching methods. The certificates recognised both their teaching competence and their future role in strengthening international preschool Chinese education in Cambodia.

The event was filled with a lively and convivial energy. Following the certificate presentation, Mr Vinh spoke warmly to the enthusiastic participants. In his speech, Mr Vinh stressed: “This is not merely an opportunity to develop professional knowledge—it is also a vital step toward enhancing the quality of Chinese language education in Cambodia. Chinese is more than a language tool; it opens up broader career development prospects for learners.” He encouraged all participants to continue refining their skills and striving for progress. Dr Chen Shi, also gave a heartening address to the participants, inspiring them to further hone their expertise and make meaningful difference in the field of education.
