The brand’s unique pre-school curriculum will benefit close to 500 children in the new Zhuhai centre
The 4,650 square metre development built by Singapore-listed Yanlord Land Group will be ready by late 2016. Kinderland will operate a bilingual pre-school within Yanlord’s 50,000 square metre upmarket riverside residential and commercial project in Zhuhai, Guangdong Province. With 3,300 residential units, this Yanlord Peninsula project is feted as one of the most prestigious residential developments in the Zhuhai city.
Kinderland Zhuhai will be the brand’s second school in China, after the success of Kinderland Xiamen which started in 2012.
The internationalisation and sophistication of Chinese and expatriate parents in fast-growing cities like Zhuhai has created an acute need for English-based curriculum for children between 2 to 6 years of age. As with Kinderland Singapore, English will be used as a medium of instruction in subjects like Music, Art and Physical Education.
Students of the new Kinderland Zhuhai centre can access a custom-designed building with 18 classrooms and state-of-the-art facilities including a constructive play studio, computer-aided learning lab, keyboard music room, library, art studio, performance auditorium and conducive outdoor learning environment.
With a population of 1.5 million people and fast expanding, Zhuhai city is one of the Special Economic Zones within the Guangdong Province, itself the most populous province in China. With 37 years’ experience of providing high quality
care and education for children in Singapore, Kinderland’s overseas expansion will also sharpen its curriculum, ultimately benefitting its home ground.
Kinderland, which was established in 1978, currently has 25 centres in Singapore, among the 60 that it runs in Asia.
With these latest developments, Crestar Education Group which owns the Kinderland, ELFA, NurtureStars and Skool4kidz pre-school brands, now operates more than 120 pre-schools and enrichment centres across Singapore, Malaysia, China, Indonesia and Bangladesh.
